How to hack a weapon Model

PAGE 7

56. Once we have the v_mp5.mdl file open now and re-check the "show crosshair" box under the WEAPON ORIGIN tab, we can see that it is dead-on center in the crosshair, which is what we wanted.

57. Now, onto the TRANSPARENCY. Remember first, the studiomdl.exe you need to have in HLMV is the one for transparency--which I inluded on Page 1. Go to the TEXTURES tab in HLMV, select dot.bmp from the drop down box and CHECK the box "additive".

58. Go to the TEXTURES tab in HLMV, select reddot.bmp from the drop down box and CHECK the box "additive".

59. Go to the TEXTURES tab in HLMV, select line.bmp from the drop down box and CHECK the box "additive".

60. Go back to the WEAPON ORIGIN tab in HLMV and you'll see the laser, dot, and far dot are now just like a real laser and the far dot is still centered in the middle of the crosshair. You have successfully put a laser onto a weapon model. [ KEEP IN MIND, as I said, you can use this same method to add any other weapon part onto a gun, AND you may have to add more than 1 line into the .qc file to make it compile depending on if it will compile correctly. (what i mean is another line such as the: $body "studio" "laser" , line in the v_mp5.qc file ]

61. Lastly, You have to SAVE the model again to keep the transparency on the gun. So, in HLMV go to: File > Save Model As > and either overwrite the v_mp5.mdl or name it whatever you want. But it has to be named v_mp5.mdl to work in cs/cz.

62. Once you put the model file v_mp5.mdl into the folder \cstrike\models, this is what it will look like in-game.

63. This is simply the same in-game model but while reloading. Hope you had as much fun as I did hacking on this laser. :D
